In a word, YES.
I can’t promise you that a portrait will make your life easier, but I KNOW that expressing yourself makes life worth living. You can’t put a price on that.
When I do a commissioned female portrait, I see light and shadow. I don’t look t a breast or a thigh or a ‘flat stomach.’ I see the way light and shadows fall on your body and find interest in the patterns they make.
When those lights and shadows come together, they create an artistic version of your physical essence. That’s what I see, and when I finish, you can see your body through an artist’s eyes.
It’s important for you to see yourself from a different point of view because we are all too critical of ourselves. Until we can shut down that inner critic and let that voice go; only then will we see ourselves differently. In a better light.
Let’s find out.
I don’t know how exactly, but I know this step could be small or massive but it will be one footprint closer to letting go of some unnecessary crap you didn’t even know you were holding onto.

If something serious, like sexual trauma, is holding you back, you don’t need to bring that with you. Counselling or therapy can be helpful, life-changing even. You don’t need to be fully healed to give yourself this artistic gift.
This is meant to be a fun way to find joy in your physical form, which will delight your mind and soul at the same time.

And no, you don’t have to LOVE every little thing about your body. Body positivity is excellent, in theory, but sometimes quite unrealistic.
You don’t have to adore every inch of yourself, but if we can start with at least feeling something less than hate. Less than disgust. Get to a point of at least
neutrality. I think that’s a fantastic start.
