FAQ

How much does a portrait cost?

The cost of a portrait will vary depending on the size of the portrait and how many people are in it.

Portrait sizes start from 40cm x 60cm and go up from there.

Custom sizes are available.

There can be more than one person in your portrait. Let’s have a chat about what that looks like.

One of my favourite portraits to do is called Generations and it is of mother and daughter.

Generations artwork by Christina Cerqueira - A mother and daughter standing, front on, holding hands in the nude.

Portraits can have any combination of people but are restricted to 18+ only.

I create all my work on a timber surface. Beautiful birch timber and Victorian ash frame made locally in Victoria.

Yes. I think all the pieces are complete with a frame.

The frames are Victorian ash timber and locally made in Victoria.

While we can do this, your portrait would require multiple sittings. With life the way it is I often find myself working on portraits at all hours of the day. Sometimes sneaking in an hour or two in between kids activites.

Instead I prefer to work from photos. This takes the pressure off all around and also adds an extra element of self love. There is nothing like taking a photo of yourself nude!

You don’t need professional photos, no. If you have them I can definitely use them as a reference (we may need to seek permission from the photographer to use them as a reference).

I love the idea that you take photos of yourself and have another chance to explore the idea of how you view your own body.

Nudes!

Haha, but seriously yes I need nude photos.

Once your portrait is booked, we will have a chat on the phone or on video call. We can talk about how you are feeling and poses you might like to explore. Then you will go away and take some photos.

I get it, this is a bit daunting.Don’t worry, I promise this is a really important part of the process.

Yes, definitely. It is very important to me that your photos are safe and secure. I will send you through a link to a private folder in my google drive where all the photos can be uploaded. The folder will be password protected for extra security.

The first step to booking a portrait is to get in contact with me. You can reach me via email, dm on one of my social channels (or links at the bottom of the page), or fill in the contact form.

Once I have the initial information we can have a chat about size, price and time frame.

Then away we go!

Working with me should be a simple process.

We will have a chat via phone or video call to start the process off. You can tell me a little bit about yourself and why you want a portrait commissioned.

I will confirm that the layout with you prior to starting on the timber. Once the piece has been started on the timber it can’t be changed as the pastel embeds itself into the surface of the timber.

I reguarly send progress shots via my instagram stories. I can tag you (noone else will see the tag but you) so you can see the progress as I go.

You can reach out at any time during the process as well.

If you have found yourself here then I imagine you have had a foray into not loving yourself or your body.

Loving yourself is one of the most important aspects to life. We spend so much time not loving what we look like that it can often consume us. Trust me, it happens to me too.

I want you to understand that you can love yourself and your body while not liking an aspect of it.

I myself have aspects about my body I don’t like although overall I love my body and find it sexy.

It takes work but it is possible. The very first step can be looking in the mirror and tell yourself that you love yourself and that you are sexy.  This can be daunting! Do it and I promise you wont regret it.

It starts with telling yourself that you love your body and that you find it sexy.

Yes, this is daunting. Looking at yourself in the mirror and talking to yourself can be extremely empowering. You need to be concious of your self talk and this process will start to rewrite what you might have said in the past.

Repeating the process everyday is also very important.

On top of this, you need to listen to what you want to do and follow that.
